Smoke Rise Baptist Church, a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship partner congregation in Stone Mountain, Georgia, decided to lend support and show hospitality to their new neighbor, Malik Waliyani, whose nearby BP gas station had been robbed and ransacked just a few days prior.
Following the Sunday morning worship service on July 17, this CBF church, led by senior pastor Chris George, headed down the road to buy gas and groceries and spend time with Malik.
“We committed to being a good neighbor and go the extra mile,” George said. “We put our prayers into practice. We found a way to support a hurting neighbor by buying gas and groceries.”
